Two Step Verification

What is Two-Step Verification?

Also known as Two Factor Verification, two-step verification is an option that increases the security of your account.

Instead of only asking for your password when you sign in, the website will also ask for a generated code only you and the website will know. The code must be correct for you to sign in. This means that anyone trying to sign in to your account will need to know your password and also must have a way to generate a correct code.

In order to begin, you must first install an authenticator app on your phone. If you do not have one, you can start with the ones offered by Google and Microsoft. Depending on what phone you have, these apps can be found on the Android Play Store or Apple App Store.

Enabling Two-Step Verification

  1. Install a valid authenticator app on your phone if you haven't already.
  2. Sign in to your account.
  3. You will need to edit your account by clicking the company icon/logo in the top right corner beside the Messages button.
  4. Under Security Settings, enable Two-Step Verification. A pop-up will appear.
  5. Scan the barcode to register our site in your app or enter the key manually.
  6. If the option is available, ensure that 'time-based' is selected.
  7. Once registered, enter the generated code in the textbox to confirm that it was successfully registered.

  9. Make sure to record and store the recovery codes in a safe and secure place.
